Kirsten Dunst's Road Trip
Hitting the road with your besties appears to be the hottest celeb trend. Kirsten Dunst dishes on one she took with her girlfriends in the December issue of Allure. "It wasn't anything five-star. Just a bunch of girls having a good time."
Kirsten and her friend "determined if we liked a state by their welcoming signs and their speed limits," she tells Allure. "If it's a high speed limit we love this town." That plan for mapping out a course took them to the Grand Canyon, Houston and Shartlesville, PA (home of Roadside America, a 6,000 sq-foot miniature village shown below), New Orleans and Memphis. She hit the cemeteries in New Orleans and in Memphis visited Graceland where Kirsten learned--too late--that you can pay an extra $30 and skip the line.
Other celeb road trippers include Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte. Condé Nast Traveler reports that sisters drove across Death Valley and stayed at Amargosa Opera House and Hotel (below). The main draw at this hotel is owner Marta Becket, an 84-year old dancer who preforms most Saturday and Sunday nights. We wonder if Becket inspired any of the duo's edgy Rodarte for Target line that hits stores on December 22?
